Alternator whistle??
Alternator has a slight whistle since I got the car. Not getting worse, but is it normal???. It just annoys me. Cant hear it from inside but can from outside or with the hood up. Bad bearing?

Are you sure its the alternator.... Belt tensioners are a common source for noise.. What year and how many miles. Over 40k makes this item questionable. Is it different when to air con is on. Separate belt and another tensioner on the air con system

Not to compare apples to oranges, but... My 93 eagle talons alternator went bad and I replaced it with a new one that whistles. Could not get an explanation from the dealership, except that it had a 2 year warranty.. No problems so far after 8 months, just makes me wonder..

Mine doesn't whistle at all. Most likely will need to be replace. One w/ only 14k shouldn't be bad, but it shouldn't be whistling either.
My tensioner pulley churps just a little every now and then too.
