What is the max. tranny temp you have seen in your stock A4 ?
Since you are located in Dubai, a very HOT location, putting in a tranny cooler is a wise and cheap investment to extend the life of your tranny.
Most coolers will drop your temps 20+ degrees.
If you are seeing tranny temps 220+ with just normal type driving, you need to get a cooler.
I live in South Carolina and have over 400 rwhp on a 45000 mile 99 vert. If my trani temp ever went above 185 at ANY time- summer, winter,road racing, stop and go, whatever- I'd get nervous. Get the best and biggest trani cooler you can find and have it installed -well worth the investment- they don't cost much more than those fancy shift ***** that are so popular on this forum.
Mine got up to 250, which was the begining of the end of that transmission. Clutch paks were replace a week later, 2 weeks later I lost 2nd gear completly. Dealer replaced under warranty. Heat is your worst enemy with these transmissions. They will fry quickly. Get an aftermarket trans cooler if you plan on lots of spirited driving, especially in hot climates such a Texas
