Default 98 Differential Question

How do I find out what my gear ratio is on my 98 auto. Can I use a differential out of a 6 speed in my car? What would be a good ratio for my bone stock 98, I have drove others that seem to have more launch than mine. My car has no mech problems just geared to high I think. Thanks.

It is a 2:73. MN6 came with a 3:42. Mine has a metal tag on the side of the rear, and also written with a paint marker on the back of the diff.

Not so fast check your options sticker in the glove box if it lists G92 axle it's a 3.15.
And yes a 6 speed axle will bolt right in and give you a 3.42 IMHO a perfect ratio for an A4.

Default Found code

Thanks for the help. My code listed on the Service Code Id is GU2 which is a 2.73. How difficult is it to install a diff. in these cars? If I put a 3.42 in my car how much will it affect gas mileage?
