Hello all,
I have been planning on getting long tube headers in the near future...however I need to be as economical as possible. My question is this....could I still get the typical 25-30 HP with long tube headers and tuning and keep the stock catalytic converters? Most people say that removing the cats or going to high-flow versions will only bring you 5-8 HP. Is this all I'm giving up if I keep the stock cats with LTs? I could always add high-flow cats in the future and get it re-tuned as I know someone who tunes cars (i.e., no extra cost for tuning). Sound is not a big deal to me (in fact, less is better as my car is a daily driver), I just want more power! Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
Saw real world testing on this issue and removing the cats only gained 5 HP, not worth going without in my opinion. Dealing with the laws on this issue are not worth it.
my cats were recently gutted...not on purpose..just happened that way but thats another story.. anyway...the smell of fuel/exhaust is pretty strong kinda like race day everyday
so may want to consider this
