Default headlight trouble (Please help)

I recently became a corvette owner again when I purchased my 99 jet black coupe. I am also new to this corvette forum, Iam from the Dallas,TX area. Anyways, my wife was driving the vette and the headlight went out, when she put the lights down they have not come back up and healight will not come on. I have a twist style light switch, I have changed the bulbs and they still dont work)come on or pop up). If anyone has any ideas how to fix this please let me know! Im glad to be a part of the corvette forum again!

I have trouble with mine every now and then. I will work the switch about 20 times and they will start working. They will work fine entill car sits again for a long time. Also check fuse,Your owners manual will show which one. I also have a 99FRC.

Will the Hi-Beams come on, with the lights down and no key in ignition, when you pull the lightswitch stalk to Flash-To-Pass?
If so, I've had a similar problem before. Dealer, under warranty, replaced the BCM.

I am having this exact problem as described. Driving lights, marker lights, tail lights work fine. Headlights wont come up, headlights/highbeams wont turn on. Hi beams will shine when flicked for 'flash to pass operation' Previous owner when confronted with issue said, ohh, I dont drive at night but sometimes back when I did I'd have to flick them on and off a few times to get them up or down.

Can anyone provide me with any headlight wiring schematics so I can test the circuits prior to letting the dealer abuse me with a full diagnosis, a new bcm and a reprogramming of it.

Or... can anyone else confirm that a bcm is required in this circumstance?

Any shops/people in the new england area who can reflash the bcm or flash a used one if I can find one?

Any help is appreciated

There's also a headlamp module under the (passenger side?) headlamp.

It sounds too simple, but have you checked the battery connections? I've experienced the same symptoms and this was the problem. Best of luck!

DickieC... just to confirm, the same symptoms of lights not going up or on but the pass to flash working?

I'd love to hear its a connection or ground.

I can find time, money is harder to come by.

Yup. My experience was probably a total fluke but you might as well give it a shot. This is what happened to me a couple years back - came out to the car, it starts right up, I pull out of garage and turn on lights, they don't come up, with the car running I get out to take a look and the lights are ON (just didn't come up). "Thats weird" - so I turn car off and turn car on again, this time lights don't come up AND they are OFF, I try to flash the brights and I can see that they are working. "WTF" - at this point I pulled back in the garage and slept on it. Remember, the car turns over right away and runs fine. So it couldn't be a battery/charge problem, I thought, must be something big. But after posting on here someone told me to check the battery. Sure enough, the positive cable was just BARELY loose. Tightened it, started her up, and all has been well since. I know, doesn't make sense, but that was my problem. Hope this works for you too.

It's a good place to start. I'll give it a try, will prob. clean all those grounding connectors while I'm at it. If that solves my problem, I'll be as happy as I get.

I appreciate the help.
