My friend and I have done so much testing in this area it isn't funny. We've taken multiple radar detectors and found hidden police cars and made passes by them testing each detector and the amount of advance warning. We've done real-world test (at least I did) on avoidance from +15mph and braking hard enough to lose that speed in 1 second. We've looked at every product and test on the market, including the owners manuals and training procedures for the radar guns as well as radar theory (well, my friend did most of that). We've beat it all to death and walked away with some conclusions that have held true in the last decade.
You can try to fool the signal by using a jammer, and active ones do quite a nice job, but because they're transmitting a signal (unlike the passive ones), they need to be FCC licensed. And even so, they still lose their effect a few hundred feet from the source.
The best way to avoid speeding is to be alert, have good headlights at night, have a brake setup that will slow you down as much as you can in 1 second, your foot on the brake pedal to eliminate any response time, and a Valentine One.
Or I guess you could set the cruise for the speed limit too, but what's the fun in that?
It used to be quick connects, but once I needed a domain, I needed a catchier name. Hard to register any normal sounding domain these days...

I'll be out covering some events this weekend including the Corvette low speed event at the old airport if you're going to be out.
