Ok I need some help with this one. Went out Saturday night and drove the corvette. Did the usually, turn the car off and the headlights. Got back in about 4 hours later and the headlights would not come on. The fog lights did but the headlights would not raise or come on. So set them to come on in the dic and they rise up and come on but not when I use the switch. I have a set of aftermarket bulbs but I have had them for about 4 years. So is it the switch or maybe a body control module. Is the switch hard to replace. I am all ears guys
Bulbs use the stock wattage and the battery is about three months old. They will come up and on when you use the twilight setting just not off the switch.

Never heard of that before, sounds like its just a bad connection in the switch though. Don't quote me, and I have never removed or fooled around with the switch.
what would the bulb wattage effect? Ive got hid ballast tied in at the fuse box on the silvia bulbs they are very bright I have had no problems? before I did this I have had the occasional one headlight opening and not shutting vice versa. Id take a hammer and tap on the motor and it would start working again, or if that didnt work I would manually open and close the light and it would start working? I dont know anything about it tho.I am also all ears.
You can open them manually but they still want come on. Here is the fun part. Turn on the twilight setting and they come up and on, then turn the switch on and turn the twilight off and they stay up and on. I think it is the BCM but don’t know where it is and how much they coast. Still all ears though.
you have a bad stalk switch probably.twilight sentinal is controlled by the bcm.the headlamps are pretty straight foward.if you use the tilt in the column often it usally ends up creating your problem.without seeing the car,my guess is a bad stalk switch
it isn't that easy to swap and i'm not sure the stalks are the same between a Z06 and a C5 a Z06 doesn't have twilight sential],though i don't think it matters as far as the stalks go.
