I seem to have some chirping especially when its cool outside. It doesn't sound like belt squeel. It seems to be coming from the left side of the engine, possibly the alternator bearing. Can this bearing be serviced or replaced or do I need a whole new alternator??
Thanks for the offer. I'm not 100% sure if it is the alternator. Are you available some time to take a look and verify my diagnosis. As you know I'm always good for some beer or lunch. I'm going to post a request in the parts section and see if anyone has one. I know the 2000 year alternator is different than in the newer models. Hope all is well with you.
Is this common on vettes I have the same nojse but someone told me its the belt .Now you've got me thinking I've owned many chevys but the vette is a whole new animal I look under the hood and don,t know were to begin I'm afraid I might mess some thing up and wished I never messed with it
