I may purchase some used HRE wheels that are 9.5 X 17 inch front and the rear wheels are also 17 inch but 11 inch's wide.
I looked on the tire size chart at Discount tire and find if I go to 245/50 on the rear that the speedometer will be very close to running the 275/40 size that is stock for the corvette.
My problem is ::: Does Michelin make a size 245/50 runflat pilot sport A/S ZP ????
I want to keep the speedometer as correct as possible.
Any help or suggestion will be appreaciated.
Hold on: If you, in fact, have only 17 inch diameter wheels to mount on your vehicle, the 17X9.5 front wheels will require front tires measuring 274/40-17. The rear wheels at 17X11 will require a 315/35-17. FYI, this is an old Corvette C4 ZR1 tire sizing application, AND, should work just fine on your C5. Also, there are a number of tire manufacturers that make both these front and rear tire sizes mentioned above to accomodate you. Therefore, here are a few worth mentioning: the Goodyear (GSD3's); Nitto 555's; Yokohama (AVS's); and, BF Goodrich T/A KDW's. Good luck to you.
Look up zr1 tires, and froget about run craps. They suck, just carry around a patch kit and a small air compressor like the factory zo6 kit. It will be well worth it in ride quality, handling, noise, tire selection, and price.
