Default i need your opinion

i am as of right now looking to buy long tube headers for my 04 z06. however, i was reading about the lg street series headers and they caught my attention specially looking at their price.
My question is if they are going to be something that would truely be over the top (just like their pro series) and be much much better header than say kooks.
i have vacation coming up next week and that would give me plenty of time to install the headers, but LG says they wont have those headers out until the end of the month. If i chose to buy kooks, do you guys think that i would be wasting my money and i should instead wait for the lg street series? or would they be just about the same performance wise as the kooks? i know that LG says that they wont be as good as their pro series and that they would be about 5hp less than their pro so i am thinking that is where the kooks are at as well. (about 5hp less than the pro series).
am i going to really see more hp with the street series compared to the kooks or do you all think that it is probably going to be about the same??

Not to knock LG (because the pro series get fantastic reviews) but they are made by Borla...the street series are not. The pro series use a special "Merge collector" that LG claims the 5 HP you talk about comes from. This is if you need every single pony out of the car (I.E. race car)the street series do not have this type of collector. (I.E. Street car)

I just bought a set of Kooks, I have looked at all of them before I actually bought and the Kooks are equally regarded as top quality headers. I would dare to estimate (and LG claims the same) that most equal length long tube headers of the correct tube diameter would produce approximately the same HP\TQ. Put a tune in the mix and that is when you get the most out of the setup. The pro series by LG with that special NASCAR designed collector would be the top, then its a buyers market from that point on...each LT retailer has their own little nuiances to install, but none prove to be a great deal of work.

I would say, unless you go with LG Pro's, then the other systems are going to be at or near the same net HP as the other...price is key, so are emission concerns.

I got my Kooks used, so it worked out perfectly for me!

Good luck, there is much debate on this forum about who makes the best LT header...you will find proponents for them all.

Hope this helped some...

Word on the street has it that the LG's go in much easier than the Kooks. Unless you pay someone else to do the install.
