Stupid Question
At a show yesterday I noticed several 03-04 coupes had a bulge on the interior panel on each side of the Bpillar above teh seatbelts. What teh hell is it?

They have bulges because they are

I have seen this asked a number of times and cannot say I have seen a definitive answer. I have a 2003 and they are there.
One suggestion that I have heard a number of times is they are there to reduce the chance your head will slip back behind the seat in an accident.

These are hard. Seem to be the same plastic that the rest of the panels are made of.
