Default Seat Problem

Was wondering if anyone had a problem with their drivers seat and not moving forward. When I hit the button to move the seat forward, only the left side of the seat will go. Seems like their is something stuck in the track of the right side of the seat preventing it to move, but their isn't.

Any suggestions? This is for a 02 Z.

Thanks...

Default Seat

JeffRM,
Pulled my seat out(99 power w/ memory) last night to replace the gear that makes the bottom cushion tilt up and down. I'm not an expert, but this is what I noticed about the front to back slides. There is a motor under the front part of the seat with two flexable shafts . One shaft goes to the left track and the other goes to the right. These shafts operate the worm gear in the tracks. I'd look there to make sure they are both turning. The motor operates both sides so I would guess its either the flex shaft or something jamed in the worm gear inside the track. Just my .02.......Let me now what you find I might have the part left over from the old seat assembly I bought.

Had the same issue on my 00. Pulled the seat and flipped it over and found that each track at front and back has a group of 3 white (plastic?) bearings in it. One group had 1 bearing that had moved rearward about an inch and a half from the other two. Took my thin metal scraper and slid it between the tracks and pushed the lone ball back into position and has been working great ever since.
Have also heard of the tracks failing (which is what I was afraid had happened to me).

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

I am having two problems with the seats which seem to be inverse of eachother.

The passenger seat (front+down) does not work or even make a noise like the motor is engaging.

The drivers seat (front+up) only works when you pulse the switch. Meaning push up release-push up-release-repeast as necessary.

Is this a motor problem or a switch problem?

Thanks,
Dexter

I had that once and after removing the seat, I found a dime caught in the track.
