Default Tires?

What are the best performance tires that I can get to be able to fit on my stock z06 17x9.5 fronts and my 18x10.5 rears. I want something that is good traction so that I dont spin so much. Thanks...

Depends on how much you want to spend. On the high end, check out Michelin Pilot Sports 2 at www.tirerack.com for the best prices. Also, stick to non-run flats.

BF Goodrich KD's or KDW's (for wet driving). Either tire sticks like glue on cornering and is a very good price. HTH

I just looked up the BF Goodrich T/A KDs on BF Goodrich's website & they advertise it as a "Near R-compound" tire. Does this mean it is not a R-compound tire?

Racing compound tires tend to have a very short life. Also, what one company calls "R" another may not. I see that designation as a general designation by the particular manufacturer as it relates to the tires intended use.
The T/A KDs have very high ratings for traction and are reasonably priced. Especially when you look at the cost.
Check out Tire Racks site and compare customer feedback and ratings.

If you want sticky tires and tire life is ot the most important thing then go with the Nitto's 555 in the front and the NT-01's in the back they are some real sticky tires and I love mine even though they can not hold to the power I put down--700+ rwhp. These are some assome tires for the street.

How do they compare traction wise compared to the Nitto RIIs or Drag tires?

The NT-01s afre there newest Drag Tire and they are sticker than the RIIs and softer, so they will not last quite as long, but for sticky tires on the street they are superb
