Default Who's coating their headers?

I just got a set of Lg longtubes and was curious how many of you are coating them before installing them. I know that the underhood temps. rise when you put uncoated headers on but is it really necessary to do this. I really want to get these bad boys on and don't feel like sending them off and waiting for them to get back.

Absolutely, do it!!! Not only will it reduce heat but they'll stay good looking for life. No heat discoloration. We coat all our race car headers. Produces a little more power also. So many benefits and no downside, other than the wait. But trust me, you'll be happy you did it.

I used Swain Coatings, they did a great job, and headers look new and clean even after a year. I would do it again if I had to make the choice over

A coating intended for turbo applications is supposed to help keep the exh gas temp up for the ox sensors.

I've gone through a couple plug wires from uncoated headers. I recently had my LGs coated @ Calico Coatings in NC.

Had my B&B's ceramic coated. Is good for reducing underhood temp.

I had my Lg's coated at Jet Hot. They look almost like chrome. With all the positive things I've read on getting them coated I figured it was a good idea. I have no regrets.

I've had my uncoated LG long tubes on for over 6 months with no issues at all (and used the money I saved for other mods).

My LGs were coated.
My Kooks are not coated.
I emailed Kooks about coating mine. Kooks replied that they Do Not suggest coating their Stainless C5 headers.FWIW.

With Stainless Steel headers, I would just thermal coat them. Or ceramic coat the inside.
