Can I check/delete codes without programmer??

I deleted my air tubes and the service engine light came on. I have a freind who will be tuning my car in a few weeks or so, but I thougth I heard that you could find and delete codes without a programmer/tuner. Is that true? and if so, how do I do it?

You can see and delete DTCs using the DIC:

You cannot disable them through the DIC, for that you need programming.
