Default Oil Pressure Gauge

The oil pressure gauge on my 98 vette when started goes all the way to 80 the max and stays there and when killed goes back to 0 what could this be? Just the sensor or is the gauge bad? What do you recommend?

This is the bad sensor symptom. Intake needs to be pulled forward 6 inches to access the sensor. Not a difficult job.

Edit: I found the DIY. Oil Sensor DIY

So is screwed in the back of the block? I have to unbolt the intake to get to it?

Thats the only way. It should not take that long. 2 hours at most. Just make sure you have the torque specs and sequence for the intake installation. The intake has a rubber gasket so you wont have to replace any gaskets. Good luck. As soon as mine arrives I have to do the same thing.

Default Bad Sensor

Hi, mine went bad about a month ago (99 vert), had it replaced for $270. Cost might have been a little pricey but I was just to lazy to tackle the job.
