Thank you!!! Soo many people don't understand that stock halogens can only put out soo much lighting! the E-codes only use halogens in the "upgraded" lense. not much of a upgrade if u ask me!!! U need HIDs to put out more light! the difference in output is mind boggling!

Well thats not always true. Infact I just upgraded the lighting in my Jeep Cherokee and I stayed with halogen because I didnt want to spend much money like I did on my vette HID setup. I ended up going with the e-code IPF H4 housing with higher wattage IPF 80/110 watt bulb and obviously made my own harness to support the higher wattage bulbs. The output is unbelievable!! my halogens actually over power HID projector equipped cars that are driving next to me at night. I love them!

seriously? what yr Jeep? if its the newer style, perhaps u may be able to, but the older Jeeps don't have anything. i have one of them too and want to upgrade the lighting.

But heres the thing, how much did u spend on upgrading the e-code housing, wiring, bulbs, misc cost, and your time...add all that up, is it cheaper then $300??? if not, wouldn't the HIDs be a better setup. If you look at the output rating of halogen vs HID, they put out ~1800 lumens vs 3200 lumen (6000K kit), respectively. the numbers alone tell you HIDs are better. what the e-code lenses do it aim the light a lot better right? upgrade your wiring to use high wattage bulbs helps to...

but ur right..there are other ways to do it. personally i feel HIDs are the best way to go. I have been changing bulbs for god knows how long, silverstars, piaas, etc, none of those compare to my HID setups. and i get a ton of compliements, yet no flashings on the road...

to each their own people...

Ive messed around with all kinds of bulbs from the 30 dollar Nokyas to the 89 dollar raybrigs and nothing compares with HIDs. I also went thru at least 3 new sets of wiring harness since the higher output halogen bulbs were frying my harnesses. I will never do that again there a reason why most new vehicles and i believe some day all vehicles will have HIDs. Cause they are better.
