Could you guys tell me what is the ideal setting for a A4.Would like to set it only once but then again if every car is different will try different settings. An example of your settings would be great.Thanx
The settings that I used were for maximum performance at the drags
but I never changed them for the street I did not mine that extra shift
firmness. I will assume that you installed the 160 degree thermostat.
I installed the performance tune for the 160 TS with the shift firmness
set at 100 % and the shift mph set to +3 for 1st to 2nd and +6 for the
2nd to 3rd and I left the 3rd to 4th shift mph alone since I was only
concerned with shifting at the track. I think this made my car shift
around 6300 to 6400 if you are not comfortable with shifting this high
then use +2 +4 or just leave it stock. Make sure you run 93 octane.
note: he has replaced tranny and no longer has the hypertech tune, I run shift firmness at 25% +3 ,1-2 , +5 ,2-3, no change 3-4, raised limiter to 6300. Too many people , including the tranny shop across the street said too high line pressure leads to premature failure. My tranny stays cool, less than 200 most of the time, I have no extra cooler. I tried all the other settings and didn't feel a major difference, so I played it relatively safe...
