i put corsa pace car and x pipe on my 2000 mn6. when i shift it realy pops a lot.i have the same setup on my 03 a4 no popping.i checked all connections they are all tight.is this normal,or do i have a problem?
The popping is caused by unburned fuel hitting the cats. I would verify that your air-fuel mixture and/or timing are not out of whack (i.e., mixture too rich or timing too far advanced).
My 2000 m6 does the same if I let the engine rpm drop off between shifts or let the engine drag the car down during braking. If you keep the engine rpms up between shift you won't hear the popping....nothing but that sweet low rumbling roar.
I kind of like the poping! I have dynotech headers, x-pipe with cats and Corsa indys. At night, if you are behind and the car "pops" you see a quick flash of flame!!! Kinda like being at the track.

I like it too. I have a Corsa on my DD truck, and it pops when you let off the gas and coast. Not real loud, sort of a burble. Sounds good to me.
I have an 04 6 speed with MagnaFlow cat back (no X pipe) and have heard some members complain about popping but mine doesn't. Wonder if there is a significant difference in earlier model C5's that cause it?
MY 99 mn6 with corsa & x-pipe on de-cel or between high RPM shifts sounds like: BANG!, bobble, bobble, BANG!, POP!, bobble,bobble. It really gets the attention of my passengers. I kinda like it.
