Default where to install breather filter?

hey guys
i need to install a breather on my 427 motor. right now i have a catch can and its pulling all oil in there, when it gets full, pulls oil into intake and burns it. im loosing 2qts of oil over 1500 miles or so...i was told i need to install a breather (i forget where) to eliminate the oil consumption...
can i install it inline with the line going into the catch can?
can i install it inline with the line going from catch can to intake?
can i install it where the oil fill cap is?

any thoughts? thanks!!!

I borrowed the idea from the guys on ls1tech. I installed a breather on the oil fill neck. Capped off both ports on the passenger valve cover. Then I removed the line coming from the driver side valve cover and installed a single hose to my catch can. From my catch can it goes through a gm replacement pcv valve into my Fast 90 manifold. It elimated alot of the exytra lines and crap with the factory pcv system. I had this system on my ls6 intake also. Haven't seen a drop of oil in the intake in a long time

JoeyG: i think we have the exact same setup! my catch can lines come from the driver side, into the catch can, then to the intake.
Mr. Lucky: thanks for the link!!! appreciate it!

now the question is, if i buy that breather, can i still use my fuel rail covers??? i would hate to not use my CF ones...

thank you guys! appreciate it!

I also went with the same setup. To use your fuel rail cover you will need to enlarge the opening, that is what I did and it looks ok. I have them out for painting or I would post pictures. I have a FI setup so I was worried about two much oil going to the catch can under boost. I now some ZR1 guys run 2 catch cans so you could also do that.

Same setup here - LSX/LS2 TB. Ran a 2-3 inches of 5/16th hose and a small filter off the right side valve cover. Sticks out just in front of the FRC,

WHAT ?!

I just went to that page link I provided earlier and it says, big as life...

APPLICATIONS
  • [*]
...and, it is shown on the C5 Corvette page, as per the navigation bar at the top.

PFYC is a forum vendor. Try contacting them and see if they will make it right. BTW, the picture on their website looks exactly like what JoeyG shows in his sig picture (above), and his presumably fits.

I have the exact same one in the picture above. I am not having a brain fart or anything, the hood doesnt close. Im sorry, it did close but the filter is now crushed on one side, and even still didnt close well. It just sticks up way to much.

I just contacted PFYC, I guess we will see what happens.

I should take a picture of the bent filter and the chip on the bottom side of the hood.

The site says nothing about needing an aftermarket hood to install this product.

It fits you just have to remove the tube that extends through the coil covers and install the adaptor directly into the valve cover.

The alumkinum adaptor the filter pops into. I didn't close the hood for like a onth while working on my vette. Went to close the hood and it didn't close either. Called Thunder kinda pissed, they then explained the need to remove the oil filler neck and install the breather and adaptor. No I haven't done it yet

so the plastic piece that goes into the cover, pop that out, and screw the aluminum breather piece into that location?
