Anyone know of a tuner in the Bay Area to do a tune on my '97 A4.
I have hi-flo cats, X-pipe and ZO6 Ti cat back exhaust. Also I have a Blackwing air filter, BBK CAI, port and polished trottle body from a ZO6 and a 160 stat. At present it has a SuperChip tunner installed. Will the dyno tune benifit me still?

With what youve got, probably not. It would be a waste of money in my opinion until you get something like a cam or headers.

The superchips probably does the one thing you'd really need so far which would be to change the fan-on temp for that 160 thermostat.

Thanks Shane. I"m thinking of headers, but here in Cali we are only allowed "short headers" and that isn't much of a HP gain with short headers I hear. Yes I have fan setting control. I set the fan for a 170 stat setting. SO you don't think I'd get much of a gain without headers?
Thanks,
Rsty

You might want to check with synergy motor sports in fremont. Talk with Rick (owner and good guy) There is also a dyno day there on jan 7th next year. For $65 gets you 3 pulls with a A/f reading. You might be surprised what you can get out of the stock setup.
Synergy 510-796-3749. I think they might be closed for Xmas week but leave a message and Rick will call you back..

Hi Jerome,
Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call. So on the pulls, would one be with a stock tune the next with the superchip tune installed and the third after any adjustments made? This is my first time going through this.
Thanks,
Rsty

most of the time when we go to dyno days it is just 3 pulls back to back to see the kind of rwhp your is putting out. you might want to talk to Rick about your superchip tune. i have found with most mail order tunes or generic tunes you won't see to big of a gain. i have seen some people even loose hp with those tunes.

Again, thanks for your input..it helps. I PMed Rick telling him of my MODS and the Superchip tune on my '97 A4. Now waiting for a reply from him as what to do and how. It would be nice to see the rwhp is w/o and with the tuner installed.
Merry Christmas!
