Default Edelbrock IAS Shocks???

Has anybody tried or evaluated the IAS shocks from Edelbrock? Are these any good, or are they just a gimmick? If the automatic adjustment to rough roads works, and the stiffness is there on smooth roads, then they may tame the way the rear end of my Z51 car hops around (and steps out in turns) on rough surfaces.

C5Fun,

DO NOT go near those Edelbrock IAS shocks. I tested them out and found them to be the worst shocks I have ever come into contact with. I went through 3 sets in a little over 3,000 miles.

They are very bouncy, and don't give you the type of road holding characteristics that you are looking for in a shock.

They leak very easily.

The real funny thing about these shocks is that they cost more over the Bilsteins and don't come anywhere close to the quality and performance.

Again, DON'T GO NEAR THEM!! I am trying to save you some headaches when dealing with those shocks.

Hope this helps!

Shawn

Shawn,

Thanks for the information. So are the Bilsteins best with the Z51? Are they more forgiving on rough roads than the stock?

C5Fun,

We use Bilstein shocks on all of our cars and they work great with the C5's Z51 suspension.

The Z51 shocks are really harsh on rough roads. The Bilstein sport shocks are the best set of shocks for the money. Most C5 owners use them and are very happy with them.

Hope this helps.

Hey Now:
I have the Bilstein Sports and Z06 bars, theses are the two best mods I have made yet. The shocks ride so much better than stock.Get them, you will not be disappointed. :yesnod:
