I just looking for a bit of information on a line-lock install.
The install doesn't look too bad, but, is this something your average weekend mechanic type guy would be able to undertake?
Any gotcha's to look out for??? Any tips???
The only thing that really concerns me is possible ABS issues - am I just being paranoid...
For guys that already have them - where did you mount your solenoid?
Just installed one yesterday. I bought a Hurst roll control device from Summit Racing. I then removed the stock brake line that goes between the metering block and the anti-lock valve unit. It is line MP1. The fittings on the roll control and NPT 1/8" american fittings. The fittings at the metering block and anti-lock unit are metric. I took the metric ends off of the stock line and drilled them out for 1/4" line. You need to use a "bubble flared" end on the lines going to the metering block and the antilock unit. The others are standard flare.
There is plenty of room for the solenoid which can be located approx. in front of cylinder #1 against the frame rail.
To bleed the system all you need to do is bleed it at the antilock unit. Have someone push the brake petal once and hold. Then crack the line until you see the air come out. Do this four or five times and retop master cylinder.
Re: Line Lock Install - Anyone done it? (wallstAL)
I've had luck doing burnouts with the higher stall converter, just like anyone else. Car tracks straight, and I have no problem hooking up after about 7 second burnout. I think I will pass on the line lock
