Add another 6-7" more lift to that pic to get out the passenger side. I used a 2 x 12 under the floor jack to get it high enough and then had to remove the left side jack stand to swing the muffler out.

What did you do to prevent the vette from rolling forwards or backwards, while in the process of jacking it up that high?
I just tried to do mine and even though I had the front up on some 12" homemade ramps, AND the tranny in park, AND the parking brake on, AND the front wheels blocked, it still tried to roll backwards on me when I had it about the height you have in your picture. (It was on level ground too).
To say that it was really spooky, is a gross understatement! I said to hell with that idea...put it back down and came inside to come up with some other way of doing this.

Yep, there's nothing to keep your front wheels from rolling with the back ones off the ground. I screwed in a couple of 2 x 4's horizontally (is that a word?) across the front of the stacked 2 x 12's to chalk them. The car did want to roll forward on me a bit but I found that I could pull it back or at least hold on to it somehow to wrestle with the damned pipe. Of course, when you lift it with the jack to it's max, either the jack or the car will move some as the lift 'arm' swings up so you have to expect that too. I spent half the day getting the car off the ground so for me, there was no turning back! Dum luck, I'm sure...

Either use long boards under the front wheels, or put it on ramps, I've done it both ways. Most important, take your time and keep checking to make sure all is stable. I have removed 2 factory and put one back on without a lift.
Not sure if you have a manual or an auto, but I think the auto is a MUCH tighter fit.
I had a local muffler shop do mine for $40, no way I'd go to all that trouble, to save $40. took them all of 30 minutes, 10 minutes of which was aligning the tips.It was the first C5 they had done, and I got to supervise the job....
