might be wheel balance (I posted on the general forum and that was their thought) but I am getting a pulsing vibration when I am cruising, it's like shake, shake, shake, calm........shake, shake, shake, calm, etc. you can feel it in the seat and hear things rattling to that tune. Do you think it is tire balance (I checked and have not lost any weights) or something more serious. Just had the rear seals replaced so the whole rear end was out. Just started noticing it. This is a 2000 with about 7000 miles on it. Ideas?
I'm with you. Only mine vibrates for the first few minutes after letting the car sit for a few days. After a few minutes of driving the vibration goes away and does not come back until I let the car sit.
Shafts? Bearings? C/V's?.,..I'm not sure. I haven't had the chance to put it up in the air and take a look. I'm hoping someone else has gone through this that might have some pointers.
i've got the same issue.
just had the alignment done, now 300mi later picked up a vibr in the rear.
jacked the rear up and let it run in gear and sure enough...tires are shot. outside of the rim and tire spin true but the inside of both tires have issues, not spinning true..
i had no idea my old alignment was so far off, , fixing the alignment revealed that my rear tire are now toast..
awaiting new tires to arrive on tues. cant wait...wanna go out and play..
peace.

Yours I would have to guess is the tires temporarily flat spotting from setting. The vibration goes away because the tires warm up and become more pliant. It happens to alot of people and is more annoying than anything else and nothing to worry about.

I put tires on my 01 C5 about 2 weeks ago. The balance feels ok. A few days ago, I felt a bouncing sensation. Like 3 bounces and them smooth and bounces again. This was on the highway, blacktop not concrete, at about 70 MPH. I know there is normal highway ripple and all cars handle it differently depending on suspension, vehicle weight, tire type, wheel base & etc. I went from the RF's to the GY GS D3's. They are a softer tire and may be communicating the road to me a little more than the RF's, or because of their softness, the car is getting this bouncing feeling. That's my theory anyway!

your problem sounds like it is in the rear[vibration in seat],the rattling,calm/shake is whacky.is it a low speed vibration?did you have a rear end reseal or did you have axle seals put in?are the wheels torqued on right[or are they air gunned on]?are the upper ball joint[s] tight in the rear control arms?did you have any alignment work done?if so,maybe the rear camber bolts are loose.

It looks like it might be time to put a set of stands under the car while it sits and try it again in the spring. This past year, more than any other, the car sat for sometimes a month at a time. You're probrably right. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the input.
As ive stated in other threads, start easy go harder:
1. Check tire inflation
2. Have wheels measured on a HunterGSP9700 Road force machine. MANY shops have these and can pinpoint causes for vibration by testing each wheel/tire combo individually.
3. Alignment
If all three have been done without problems you know for sure that the problem is NOT in your wheels/tires.
