Default Head Porting...

Anyone recommend a decent shop that is proven at porting LS1 heads? I've got a set of 99 heads that came off my blown motor and I'm thinking about sending them out to have them done. The 98 units on the car now are not making the power we expected, even though we installed 2.02/ 1.57 valves and had them cleaned up. We started with a new casting. I've got all this new hardware in these heads. Would be nice to send the old heads out, then swap this hardware over onto them.

Hey Mike,

When I was looking into porting my heads vs. buying new, I got a lead from Bob (16 Again here on the board) for Barry Walker down here in Ft. Lauderdale. I've got his card here:

Barry Walker
Airflo Technology, Inc.
954-771-9319

Bob highly recommended Barry, I've got no experience, but if you PM or call Bob I'm sure he will be happy to talk to you about him.

In my case, I found it cheaper to go with the complete CNC ported Patriot heads vs. porting my own - but since you've already got new valves, springs, etc. your cost calculation is different than mine.
