Default Clutch Help

Looking for a clutch that will handle 500hp-550hp at the crank and be comfortable in a not so daily driver. All suggestions and experience welcome. Thanks.

How about the new C6 Z06 clutch? We installed one in a stock C5 about 2 months ago and it works great. Should be able to handle your power needs.

I bought a ram clutch from TSP on my last f-body. The car was mostly stock, but it was supposed handle 500 HP, felt just like the stock clutch, couldn't tell a difference.

I dont have that much hp but I am running a mcleod single disk with no problems. The clutch pedal is much stiffer than stock. I have heard nothing but good things about the textralia clutches. Spec clutches seem to be a popular choice for high hp.

How is that working out? What was the price on it? And, does it give the pedal a stiffer feel over stock c5?

I've got the LS7 clutch in my car with about 450RWHP. Feels like stock with no downside. Just added a Cartek adjustable master to put the pedal exactly where I like it. I don't think you can go wrong with this clutch setup. You need to get the LS2 flywheel. Don't forget to add the LS6/Z06 slave cylinder at the same time.

The pressure plate, disc, flywheel, throw-out bearing are about $520 from one of the forum sponsors - Beans or Fichtner. The slave cylinder is about $140 as I remember. The adjustable master was about $150.

This clutch should work for your power levels since this is the new Z06 clutch and has this type of power stock

Installed the LS7 clutch kit & LS6 master and slave hyraulics in my 99 coupe and could no be happier. Pedal stiffness is basicly the same as the stock C5 setup but just a bit more positive feeling in engagement. Total cost from Fred Beans including shipping was $759. Hard to beat that price on a >500 hp rated clutch setup that's OEM. Don't forget a new pilot bearing and remote bleader line from LAPD.

I love the RAM 980 VDS with aluminum flywheel that I installed in my daily driven 99...

Default LS7 Clutch Kit

I know the new Z is rated at 505hp but does anyone know what the clutch is rated for? It sounds like the answer.
