Remote bleeder hose orientation....those with experience please step in
All,
Tomorrow night the drivetrain is going back in after my LS7 clutch and DTE 3.90 & remote bleed slave (LAPD) install. How did you guys orient the remote bleeder hose before you tightened it down? Any pics?
I just routed mine to up by the reservoir where I could reach it and tied it off with zip ties. Mine is essentially vertical.
As a precaution, this extension can chaff the fuel line and at least one member's car has caught fire from this. Before you tie it off, I suggest you put a rubber sleeve around the aeroquip line to protect the fuel line.
I covered mine with a rubber hose, and tie wrapped it underneather the car in a safe spot. Once you bleed the slave, you'll probably never use it again.

I bleed my clutch at every track event to help keep the air from accumulating so having mine up top makes bleeding a little easier.
Is this mod really necessary? I'm about to put a Cartek clutch in and now would be the time to do it BUT, I don't auto-x my car. I do take it to the strip. I've never had to bleed the clutch before in any race car I've ever owned after initial install.
I understand the ease of it but will you ever actually do it?

very true, Cobra4b also had the fuel line issue(no fire, i believe); the fuel are plastic and easy to wear through

Who knows...
Many people have reported a dreaded sticking clutch issue on these cars. There is some thought that bleeding the clutch will help stave off this problem. Here is another current thread discussing the same issue: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ch&forum_id=49
