Re: Lug Nut Caps.....how do I keep them on? (ronf)
They seem pretty tight on my car, but I had one disappear under mysterious circumstances -- I suspect someone took it as a souvenir. I ordered a new one from Mid-America for $2.99. You might try a little Lock-Tite if yours keep getting loose.
Re: Lug Nut Caps.....how do I keep them on? (ronf)
Loctite won't work on them, it's for metal on metal, not metal on plastic. I haven't had any issues with mine over 7000 miles including road racing. (When road racing, take them off-brake heat transfer into the wheel melts them) If you overtightened them though, you may have cracked or worn the threads enough to keep them from holding. On new ones, simply wipe off the threads on the cap and the lug nut, and hand tighten them, then use a socket WITHOUT a wrench, and tighten them another quarter turn. They won't go anywhere.

I've lost two in the last year, same wheel. The part number for the factory argent nut caps is 9593229. You can actually buy just one. Don't know where to get chrome caps tho...
Re: Lug Nut Caps.....how do I keep them on? (ronf)
I have had a couple come off . I now put a drop (small) of "Elmer's Glue on the threads on one side. They stay on and can be taken off / cleaned easily.

Sam,
You are correct again. Your method has worked for me and I have 15,000 miles on my car.
