I recently installed Dynatec Supermaxx headers, cats, and Xpipe. I quickly got a code 1153 which is 02 sensors. I have checked the sensor for position and connection and have wrapped the wires with heat tape. I have reset the code but it returns the next cycle. The question is, do I need sims. or can something like LS1 edit remove the code permantly. I know I could try changing the sensors, but why spend the money only to find out I still need the sims? Thanks!!
your fault is for the RIGHT[PASSENGER] FRONT O2 SENSOR,simms will not fix or have anything to do with it.
THE FAULT IS FOR INSUFFICENT SWITCHING[means it's lazy/not switching enough in a predetermined time].you either have a LEAK around that 02[loose,air/exhaust leak/etc]or you need a new o2 sensor[it's not a fuse,ground,etc],possibly a poor connection,but doubtful
dpd has hit it on the head. Try to tighten the O2 sensor or replace it. I don't think there is any type of connection ahead of the sensor, correct? If there is a connection try snugging that up. Bob
