Drove 950 miles to Frisco, CO for the Vettes on the Rockies Corvette ralley and had five radar hits, one at 132mph, and no tickets. V1 rules, all of the rest are second best! :chevy :chevy :chevy
I made the return trip yesterday with only one radar contact, was doing 95+ near Las Vegas when the V1 goes off hard with lots of lights and sounds. I hit the brakes and then a second or so later the V1 gets even louder with maximum bars lighted. I looked up at the same time as I hit the brakes and right in front of me about a 1,000 yards is a Nevada Highway Patrol car shooting me. I drove past him at 60mph in a 75 zone and no ticket. Accept no subsitutes, the V1 kicks A$$ over the rest!
You know I own a 2001 white Ford Super Crew cab pick-up and a 2000 C5. I can drive my pick-up faster and get almost NO radar hits. This could NEVER be because police "profile" vehicles. No Way....!!!! That could NEVER happen. Man I would really hate it if I was a black guy.....
Yep!! I'll  the Ditto!!
I've been using Valentines since they first came out..
I've used others in between but nothing on the market
can compare!

Since I disabled the DRL I get half the hits I used to, they make the C5 a target. but the V1 sure levels the playing field
I agree totally. It helps tremendously to know where the enemy is lurking. Bogey counter is an added benefit, especially when they're hiding near areas of known background noise. The other radar detectors just cannot compete with it. That includes the "ultra sensative" Bel.
I was doing some research before buying a radar detector and came across this article. It may be some help to those of you looking to buy one also: http://www.automobilemag.com/features/165.html. :hat
The link does not work. Besides, Automobile magazine prints a lot of Craig Peterson's crap. We all know his long history of bias against Valentine Research. Even if Valentine were to come in first on his tests, it doesn't mean anything because his testing methods are usually scientifically flawed.

I bought my V1 when I was a junior in high school about 8 years ago. I have accidently dropped, kicked, punched, my V1 all over autodom and let me tell you. It works just as well as the day I've bought it. The $399 I paid is probably the best money I've ever spent. Like my fellow C5'ers said above, it has paid for itself MANY, MANY times over. A neat aside, since buying my V1 8 years ago, no less than 15 people have bought V1's from what they've seen riding with me in my cars, including my whole immediate family. Kind of funny, as I'm the only one in my family that really speeds on a regular basis, they just think it's so cool.
Sorry that the first link didn't work......so here it is again(http://www.automobilemag.com/features/165.html). As for your opinion of Craig Peterson.....I really don't know enough about the guy to know if your opinion is true. I just take these reviews where they come from. By the way......Valentine came in first.

If you want to read something written by Mike Valentine back in 1993 or 1994 showing Craig Peterson's bias even then, let me know, I'll email it to you.
