The prescribed way is to jack the car up and under the side ( left or right ) air deflector, is a triangulated piece that can be removed. once this is done, you have access to the general area in the nose.
Compress the brake cooling duct, so it seperates from the front fascia, and push it aside. Now you should have access to the bulb socket. I think there are 2 locking tabs and they must be released at the same time. Kind of tough for one hand. I also hear you can remove the headlight bezel and if your hands are'nt too big, you can to them that way.
and the dealer went through the headlight bezel. What with the replacement bulb being bad or poorly installed they ended up doing it three times and took about 1.5 hours.
The drivers side amber light does not light up when the car is on but it lights up when I unlock the car using the fob and it flashes when I lock it. Any ideas?
bad bulb. it'll probably also work as a hazard, but not as a turn signal.
I replace lights by removing the headlight bezel (and the hood bumper, unless you have girly hands)
reach down, twist, and replace.
takes me all of 4 minutes anymore. I used to have to replace them ALOT. stupid things kept busting.
one big problem is that the bulbs melt the plastic above them, and this will allow water to drip on them, causeing them to burst.
I fixed this by cutting the post off of a hood liner clip, and siliconed the cap over the hole.
my car is in the body shop now getting a fender painted. They have to pull the nose off, so Im having them replace the bulbs. I only have 18000 miles in 6 years, but it beats getting my popeye forearms around duct work to replace the bulb
I was at Corvettes of Westchester yesterday and the guy reached in through the brake cooling air duct and removed socket, pulled it out thru the duct, then replaced the bulb & reinstalled it pass side) - no tools and really quick.
I would have had no knowledge of this BEFORE I installed my Vararam this weekend.
Yea, I guess you COULD do it through the brake duct opening. (Nimble fingers required)
If not, you WOULD need to jack up the car in the front and remove the plastic cover. (I saw it during the Vararam install and thought to myself, well it wouldn't be too bad to do it this way. Rhino 8000 ramps...best $32.00 I ever spent!)
