Default LS1 heads, CNC or Prof. ported/polished

Do cnc heads make more hp. than heads that have been professinally ported and polished? Seems like alot of coin for cnc heads and you have to give up your original parts as a core. I would think that for about 1000.00 to 1500.00 you could have a pro. do alot to your original heads. What do you guy's think? Also : Would the new 2002 Zo6 cam c/w ported/cnc LS1 heads be a good combo or should one go with a package from MTI or Agostino?

I think the tuners have been making more power than CNC heads. :smash:

CNC is just a method of machining. You can get more power out of hand ported heads, but they can't be mass produced with the same results. I am actually very surprised that the aftermarket head companies (Brodix, Dart, AFR, Canfield...etc) haven't latched on to the LS1 yet. It's easy to see from this forum that there would be a demand.

Get your heads CNC's then hand polished. CNC' can leave behind swirl marks from the cutter.
