Default BatteryMider Plus Hook Up / Chassis Ground

Okay, just got my BatteryMinder Plus today for my 1997 C5's battery, for maintaining it during the winter when it's not driven as much. Dumb question here, but want to be sure & know CF folks can confirm for me:
In connecting this in the car (as opposed to taking the battery out of the car), the instructions give you two options, depending on which post/cable of the battery (+ or -) currently in the car is grounded to the chassis of the car. I can't difinively determine if it's the negative from just looking at it, but in looking through my car manual, I believe it is (based upon the jump start instructions). Can someone confirm that I'm correct that it's the negative cable that's grounded to the chassis? Thanks!

Yes, it is negative ground. Just connect the tender neg cable to the battery negative terminal.

Hi Fred,

Thanks. The inst. say to hook the non-grounded to the battery cable (in this case, the pos.), and the neg. clip connection from the BatteryMinder goes to the vehicle chassis or engine block. Thanks again for the confirmation!
