Default Battery Removal During Winter Storage

Will I have issues come spring time if I removed the battery during winter storage?

You will have to unlock your radio

Your PCM will have to relearn the engine's wants.

Why don't you purchase a Battery Tender? If you hook one of these up, the car will be fine when you start it at the end of the storage period.

I keep mine on a phase charger we had on our sailboat. It goes thru stages. Bulk, absorption, and maintain. You don't need anything that complex but I use it all year round. Even in the summer if its going to sit a few days it's easy just to clamp it on...........

I would say get a Battery Tender whether the battery is in the car or not. Either way the battery is going to discharge while sitting, so it would be a good idea no matter what.

My battery has been out since end of November as its dead. I expect no problems in spring.

I didn't spend the money on a tender,I need that cash for mods! I just disconnected it and left it in the car. When spring came last year and recently we had the 50+ temps outside, I just reconnected and it fired right up. Oh yeah, I didn't have to unlock the radio, just adjust the time.

Keep the battery in the car and start it every few weeks.

MODS won't do any good if you can't starter her Spring (no pun intended) for a battery tender...one thread said Wal*Mart Black and Decker $17.00 can't beat that...IMHO

Default My friend left his outdoors and covered in winter (Michigan) and in the spring it...

started right up to his surprise. I don't recommend doing that and it was a new vet, but for about $9 you can get a floating battery tender at Harbor Freight. Can't be that mod for the $$

Sears buys a Die Hard 1.5 Amp Automatic Battery Charger. They describe it as an automatic charger/maintainer. You can select 6 or 12 volt.
Here's the description

Has anyone used this for their Corvette?
