Anyone ever install a power antenna?
Some dick busted my shorty antenna off in a parking lot so I ordered a power antenna off ebay. Any tips on wiring it in?
I think the idea is to wire it so it comes up with the radio on but I think it would be simpler to just have it come up with the ignition on.
What say you guys?

although I don't have access to my diagrams at the moment; I remember seeing an output signal from the head unit that is intended to operate the power antenna.
One reason to not have it activated solely by the ignition switch - is - there may be times you wish to keep the engine running but lower the antenna down (going into in a car wash... etc).

I have a Hurst coming so I'll have the console off soon and I may do it that way. I'd still like to avoid running wires all the way up front.
Is it possible to email the diagram to me?

I have an aftermarket HU but when I installed my power antenna I added a on off switch in the line so when I am listening to CD's the antenna does not have to be up but if I want to listen to the radio all I have to do is flip the switch.

I followed these instructions

and got a GM antenna from parts Bob at Fitchners
and used a switch so I can listen to CD and have antenna down
an easy install
