I have the chance to buy a 2002 ZO6 trans. Can I install it in my 2000 with out any problems? What I am asking is are they a direct replacement?
The trans in mine is going south quick. Thanks for the help.
The standard MN6 is a stronger transmission than the MN12. You can go with 3:90 rear gears with the MN6 and that would put you close to the same in over-all gearing of the Z06. Just swapping out your stock 3:42 rear to 3:73's or 3:90's is much more cost effective than swapping the tranny.
Yes. There have been several threads posted over the past few years where people have used a Z06 trans in place of their MN6. As best as I recall, all reported the swap was successful.
