I know this question may have been asked a million times, but what can I do for a leaking targa top. The car sat in the rain today and when I got back in the passengers seat and passengers door was wet. I saw where the water was dropping in, about right in the middle of the window where the targa top meets the window. Please help
Sounds like you need to adjust the window to tilt it inward. Had to do this in October because my passenger side had a drip coming in through the joint at the front of the Targa and the windshield were it meets the window. Adjusted the window inward and haven't had any leaks since.
Here's the steps straight from Page 8-1134 of the manual.
(Tools required #6 Torx socket)
1. Postion the window fully up.
2. Remove the large access plug from under the front of the door
3. Loosen the window regulator front channel mounting nut.
4. Remove the reflector from the (door) trim panel.
5. Loosen the jack screw jam nut.
6. Adjuste tip in with the jack screw.
- Turn the jack screw clockwise to tip the window outward.
- Turn the jack screw counterclockwise to tip the window inward.
- One turn of the screw equals approximately 1Nm
(0.04in) change at the top of the window.
7. Tighten the jack screw jam nut.
8. Lower the window.
9. Tighten the window regulator channel front mounting nut.
10. Raise the window and check the alignment.
11. Install the access plug under the front of the door.
12. Install the reflector in the door trim panel.
