Default Intermittant directionals

Has anyone ever had a problem with the directional lights sometimes not working? They work normally most of the time, but occassionally they do nothing in either direction. It's a 2001. Any help would be appreciated.

Have the same problem. Part is on the shelf waiting for a nice weather weekend to install.

You can check this by turning your hazards on and off the next time they aren't working. If they start working again when you do this, its the hazard switch for sure.

The hazard relay is actually both turn signal relays in one.

Good luck

The next time it failed I immediately flipped the Hazard switch on/off a few times and they started working, so you guys are right on!! I flipped the hazard on and off a few more times and so far they are working fine. Apparently the contacts get a little dirty or corroded. How do you go about getting at the hazard switch to get some contact cleaner in there? Thanks again!!!

Pretty tough to get at. You have to take apart a fair amount of the dash. That's why most folks milk it out as long as possible with the hazard switch before they swap out the relay. Its a sealed unit, so you really can't get any cleaner in it.

So far since I've exercised the hazard switch it's been working fine. Thanks to all for your input.
