I just installed a Yank SS3200 torque converter; I've got 1 bolt installed between the flexplate and the torque converter (I've got 2 of the flexplate / torque converter bolts left to install).
At the same time, I've been installing headers, so I've got my spark plugs and coil packs removed.
In order to get the remaining two bolt holes on the flexplate/torque converter to the access hole so I can install the remaining two flex plate / torque converter bolts, I'd like to use the starter to turn the engine over until the flexplate / torque converter bolts holes are accessible thru the access hole.
My question is: Is it OK to connect the battery and turn the engine over w/ the spark plugs and coil packs removed in order to line the bolt holes up w/ the access hole? I assume the computer will probably show a couple codes if I do this? Will I harm anything doing this or can I proceed?
you should be able to turn the flywheel by hand.. or use a wrench on the crank bolt. as long as the spark plugs are out you should have no compression.. thus a free spinning motor..

You've got your plugs removed, so it'd be easy to turn the crank with a 24mm wrench or socket on the crank bolt.
You can always use a remote starter switch. Its basically a push button
switch that you connect one side to the small starter solenoid terminal
and the other side to the red +12 volt terminal . That way you bypass
all the electronics but you do have to re-connect the battery. If the
switch wires are long enough it becomes a one man operation you can
blip the switch while you are looking at the bolts.
