Another B&B Bullet Review...
Install: Very straightforward and simple. A lift makes it a lot easier to get the old system off without cutting the over-axle pipes. The system came with new exhaust gaskets, so no need to go out to the local dealership and get raped at 10 bucks a pop.
Quality: Overall a very nice system. All the welds were nice and consistent with good penetration. The bends were spot on. The twin tips are beautiful!
Fit: I was a little skeptical about how the axle pipes would mate to the Basani X-pipe I have, but no problems whatsoever. The system fit right on. I aligned the tips, then tightened the front bolts, tweaked my tips a little more, and then tightened down on the clamps. By tighten, I mean REALLY tighten. I pulled my tips down so that they are about 1/2 inch below the bottom of the exit on the rear bumper...I was a little worried about the tips getting too hot and discoloring the paint around the rear cutout. I don't know if this is even a problem with the C5s.
Sound & Performance: I'm running stock manifolds, stock cats, and a Basani x-pipe, and I'm coming from flowmaster mufflers. My initial impression -- this isn't that loud! I was a little dissappointed at first, thinking it was going to be some all-out race sounding system. Thats not the case at all. To me, its definitely louder with the windows up and thats when you notice small things vibrating. At idle, its noticeably louder than the Flowmasters. At WOT, its really not THAT much louder than the Flowmasters. Its deeper and there is more drone, but nothing I can't live with. When I lift and let the engine braking work, there's definitely more popping, but I like that sound
The more I drive it, the more I like it. I imagine it only sound better outside the car. As far as performance, I really can't tell anything yet. I don't know if I will be able to detect 5-10 more HP with the butt-o-meter anyways.Overall, I'm very happy with the system. The quality is there, the fit is there, and the sound is defintely there.
