Default Active Handling Problem on '01 Coupe

My '01 Coupe (1500 miles) gives me "Check Active Handling" followed by "Service Vehicle Soon" on the DIC. It does this randomly and seems to happen after it has been parked for several hours in the blazing Texas sun. It does this about one in five times under these conditions. I finally got so tired of the problem and took it in for service. Well, needless to say, it still does it after I picked it up, when it supposedly was fixed. The service writer told me the car did not send any error codes to the computer to diagnose the problem. He told me he was watching the process when error codes were checked and there were none. Have any of you had this problem and how was it solved. Any suggestions? I don't want to keep taking it back without results. When I called to tell them I was bringing it back, they said the main computer might need to be replaced. HELP!!

How can the DIC post error messages without setting any codes? Something sounds fishy here. Only way I can see that they found no codes was if you had not had the warning in quite a while. I know the history codes are only retained for a set number of ignition cycles.

Next time it happens, go into the DIC and record the codes yourself. Post them here and some of our experts could probably help with a diagnosis.

From his description (which I would quote if the new software was set up to show all of the posts so I could see what he originally wrote :mad ), the problem is the dealer was looking for something to pop up when they had their Tech 2 diagnosis computer hooked up. A lot of dealers won't deal with a code if it isn't current. And in this case, that is probably intermittent and will require the car to be moving. And odds are, the dealer just hooked up the Tech 2 and started the engine and ran the tests.

I had the same problem after i got my 2001at approximately 2000miles. The dealer replace the 2 modules and it stop and has not done it again. I now have 8500 miles. They told me ths also linked to the ABS brake module.
