Well, the vette has been sitting for too long this winter and the old battery is gone. Want to upgrade to an Otima Red Top battery. Any experiences with these in c4s? Both good an bad? The local guys at the auto parts stores were not helpful for a part number and fitment. Anyone konw what part number I will need since they do come in various sizes? Any info or advice on putting one of these in a c4 would be much appreciated. Thanks - Bill
When I replaced my C5 acid battery with the Optima red top, I tried to install my C5 acid battery in my C4. It did not fit. The C5 battery is too large and I cannot put back the fender panel. (battery is about 1/2 inche to large)
I just went in the garage an measure the length of the optima red top model 34/78 we use in the C5. This is 10 inches. I also measure my old C5 acid battery: 10 inches. The Optima red top will not fit in the C4.
I’m not sure if the optima yellow top is smaller.
Edit : nice wheel on your C4 and nice bike too.
Edit #2: I just went to their web site and the Red Top D75/25 could fit. Go on http://www.1st-optima-batteries.com/ and scroll down unti you see the specifications.

I haven't looked at a C4 in while, but I do not think there are wires or electronics under the battery like on a C5. If so, then why fool with an Optima or any other paste-type battery? Just get a Die Hard or any other standard battery.
