Default chrome dipping factory wheels

I dont have chrome or polished wheels on my 2000 C5,and I would like to know is it okay to have them chrome dipped. Has anyone had this done, if so where.

Can easily be done. You just need to find a plater in your area. Production Metal Finishers in Richmond, VA does chrome plating in my area.

Many vendors here offer chrome exchange.
The idea is you agree to pay upfront for the chrome process and a core deposit on your wheels. They send you a set of wheels that have already been chromed... when you receive the wheels you place yours in the same boxes and return them to the vendor. When they receive your wheels they will determine if they are straight and concentric. At this point they will return the core deposit. West Coast Corvettes, Mid America, Ecklars, all offer this service... with this you have no down time. If you take your wheels to a plater, they will have to be stripped and polished to a mirror finis before plating... so it wont be cheap. I know these vendors offer a three year guarantee... I use them five years ago and my wheels have 60K on them and look as good as the day I bought them

Don't know where you are located but, the Hubcap and Wheel Store, 11561 St Charles Rock Road, St Louis, MO 63044 314-291-5101 will either chrome yours or do the exchange, whichever you prefer. Their prices aren't bad and the work I've seen looks pretty doggone good.

Cheers..

if that isnt what u want, look on ebay and in the C5 parts section here. alot of times u can get chrome rims outright for alot less than some of the exchange deals and u can sell your stock ones and cut the out of pocket expense even more.

I would be pretty selective with buying a chrome plating processed wheel off Ebay. The actual process will make or break the longevity. I would only go to a place who offered a three year guarantee on the chroming. If you spend a 1200 dollars on chrome plating, shipping etc, you should know who the supplier is and have a door to their customer service in the event you have a problem.. I would not look for the chrome wheels based solely on price.
This is a perfect scenario for one of my life lesion's cliché`s
I can not afford to buy anything too cheap.
There is nothing worse than spending 800 dollars on chrome plating and have it start to peel in a year.
Actually there are many things worse than that, but you know what I mean.
