Is there really a big gain from a smooth coupler TB over the stock accordion type?

I have one with an after market air bridge. It seems like it should flow better but It is hard to tell to be honest.

Those couplers have been around for years, If they made any difference at all don't you think they would be on the C6 Zo6???

Really? I got one from Mid America. Round shiney thing that had to be distorted to fit the oval stock air bridge opening. Never did fit right IMO. I thought it looked out of place so I took it off and sent it back. Hard to tell if it did any good - performancewise.

My $.02

Here is another thought... Those couplers are about 50 dollars...
Cost to manufacture is under a dollar. If you could find the exact configuration , you could buy one at Home Depot for under five dollars...
So let's recap... is does not add any HP. You're paying 5000% markup. Yes 5000%. But, it is purdy....and it's only fifty bucks.. everyone has 50 bucks...
I like Purdy stuff too, but I dont do 5000%, I draw the line at 1000%

This is a common practice on other cars; buying a plumbing-type coupler from a hardware store.

Sadly the C5 has a different size at each end of the coupler, and I've been unable to find a "hardware store" model that will fit.
