Installed new Battery and Tire sensor does not work... HELP!!
The dealer installed a new battery in my 2004 Coupe and now the Right Front Tire Sensor will not give a reading. The tech tried to use the magnet to calabrate the sensors but the R. Front would not blow the horn. The tech said to bring it back in Monday and they would put a new tire sensor in.
This does not make sense to me! Why would the tire sensor go bad on a car battery change? Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
We did the relearn and it failed on the right front. Started at the left front and the horn blew like its suppose to but then on to the R. Front the sensor would not relearn. And you cant just skip one, so now all the sensors are not working.
It makes no sense, one minute the sensors are working fine and then he changed the battery and no more sensors....

The sensors are independent of the cars main electrical system. They send a signal when operating properly that is received by the vehicle and relayed to the BCM for processing. Since 3 of the 4 are working it would appear that RF sensor has quit sending out a signal. Unless they messed with your RF wheel in some way, the problem is in all likelyhood unrelated to the maintenance they performed.
Having said that, the wheel does need to be turning to activate the sensor and send a pressure reading to the receiver, soooo it is possible that the sensor went to sleep and just needed to be activated. I would try the relearning proceedure again if the car has been driven for a reasonable distance. If you still get no response from the RF wheel, it would appear that the sensor has stopped functioning in which case it will need to be replaced to get the system to function properly.
The procedure is listed in the tech tips and can be performed by anyone with an average size magnet. (If it can pick up a standard cresant wrench, it's strong enough.)
