Default do i need a different MAF

I have a 99 vert that im putting a heads cam ls6 in in a few weeks. Will the stock MAF be enough to support the needs? mods are ls6 shortblock, ported dart205s mti 232 236 r1 cam ,3.73,3000 protorque ls6 intake, kooks 1 3\4 LTs with 3 inch x and no cats with ti cat backs.Im trying to decide also if i need to upgrade my stock air bridge for this package.Im expecting about 410 to 420 rwhp. Anyone think theses numbers are wrong? vchime in and tell me what you think.
Thanks,Normand

The 1997-2000 stock MAF is supposed to be good for 550 hp. On your A4, assuming a 20% drivetrain loss, 420 rwhp works out to about 525 fwhp. If you'll be using a 2001-2004 MAF, the diameter is even larger and it should be good for even more. I don't believe you'll have any problem with the stock 1999 MAF, in particular, if you de-screen it and then tune for that screen removal.

Stock MAF is fine. You may want to upgrade to the 85mm MAF if you go to a 90/90 setup.

Don't forget a better filter system like the Blackwing. I recommend an upgraded throttle body & MAF. You'll get smoother and more consistant operation at all RPMs. Your rwhp expectations may be overly optimistic probably by about 9-10%. However you should get considerably more torque. You feel the midrange torque in everyday driving more than the HP. Also don't forget to pay lots of attention to your exhaust. Mallet told me that just the high-flow cats on my system added an additional 8-10 hp over stock ones.

i forgot to add that i have kooks 1 3\4 and the off road x pipe with no cats and a ti cat back. does that help justify my hp hopes?
