I'm going through the same on my '03.

You're probably throwing code C1214. Sometimes this is caused by corrosion building up around the ground connectors in the engine bay. Sometimes it is an expensive ABS module that needs to be replaced. I don't think mine is the ground connections. I've just been driving carefully until I can get around to the other items.

Bill Curlee has a good writeup here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...214&forum_id=1

First, clear the DIC (so the screen is blank)

While holding OPTIONS button down press FUEL 4 times

The DIC will go through all the trouble codes by area.

See below list for a fairly complete listing of C5 codes.

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/index.php

These cars are also infamous not only for bad chassis grounds (see Bill Curlees write up at the top of the page) but I've read about a dozen guys over the last few months that had bad EBTCM's including me.
This is the unit in the footwell near the fuse panel and it ain't cheap.

GM has tried to screw a lot of folks around about replacing these under warranty, so be firm if you or they don't find the problem elsewhere.

Post the codes from the DIC and we can help you further.

People pull these types of codes all the time. Someone had the same problems last week. See my posts:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...751&forum_id=1

If your battery has been disconnected ever, it will cause all of the door module connections to be lost which causes all of your door codes. If you clear them and they come back, then you have a problem.

What a coincidence. My '03 (21k miles) had the exact same problem going to pick up some beer about 30 minutes ago. All 3 times I turned it on same thing. Going to check the codes now.

I am getting TCS C1214. If I reset it comes right back so it is there to stay. Luckily mine is under warranty. I guarantee the will tell me it has failed because I changed my front brakes.

Guys don't forget to do a search on this code.
Just recently a Forum member got the same code and it was only a bad connection at the abs sensor. Replaced the harness and all was good again.

A couple good recent posts. If you get stuck, Bill Curlee is the Shell answer man for this kind of stuff.
Sorry for swamping you Bill, but you have excellent links and info on hand! I'll buy a few rounds any day of the week

C1214 Sol Valve Relay Contact or Coil CKT Open
I think this is your only issue at hand.

The others will probably have an H after them as well and these codes can get tripped when a batter is replaced or disconnected for vehicle servicing. Let me know if there is a C (current code)

I would check the previous links before running off to get boned by the dealer. I've had rotten experiences with warranty items on electronics.

Default Warranty!!! Then go drive the dealer crazy.

I am having the same problem that you are having. I just finished removing the battery, PCM and TAC module and cleaning everything with baking soda to remove any acid from the battery. I also cleaned every connection in the area. Still having codes, but is getting better. The others are right about Bill Curlee’s write ups. HE IS THE MAN! If you have a warranty, then let the dealer deal with it (no pun intended). I don’t have one so I am going through a gamut of things to try to fix it. If I can’t, it will cost plenty for the dealer to fix. So take it in and keep going back every time a code shows up and keep good records in case it comes back when the warranty is not in effect. I can not stress enough how bad these electrical gremlins can become.

Sorry for the good news, but I don’t want others to go through what I am going through now.

The EBTCM is not in the footwell. His is in front of the engine on the left side. On earlier models, I believe pre 2000, it's mounted back by the transmisson.

Mine went out on my '01 about 4 months ago with 35k miles I had the dreaded 1214 code. My dealer got it fixed under warranty. NOTE: My car WAS out of warranty as it's an '01. I presented it as a safety issue to the service writer. They had me pay only $100 of the $800 tab.

Also, I bought the car used off an individual. I didn't purchase it from the dealer who got it fixed. The car wasn't even bought new from them. I was thrilled. Not the usual response from a dealer or the General.
