Hey guys,
I just got a set of Z06 rims for my 98 Vette, and the lug nuts were not included.I wanna install them tomorrow(will be 50 degrees in NYC)
Can I buy them at an auto parts store? What is the size? Can I use the stock lug nuts temporarily(safely)?
Please help QUICK,as I'm dyin' to install them!!
Thanks..Bill
The lug nut thread is M12x1.5, and most all wheels, OE and custom, use the stock cone-style seat.
This is a very common lug thread size, you should easily be able to find them at an auto parts or tire store.

The factory nuts for your 98 do not have the external threads that were used in later years. The external threads allow the use of the various screw-on trim caps (you can get gray, black, chrome, etc) Your stockers will work for now until you get the newer design nuts and trim caps. They just won't be as pretty.
BTW, lots of auto parts stores carry both types and they are almost always way cheaper than the steal....uhh, dealer. hTH
