Clutch time soon ls6 or ls7?
Hi. 46k on the clock of an 01 z06 (1500 from me) . Bone stock other than new plugs and wires. Mods at some point in time will be LT's and a cam .. possibly just a cam (tired of messing with CA smog stuff) and a CAI. Advice on which clutch to pick up would be appreciated.
Thanks
Fej

If you're not going to be doing any mods (other than a cam) then i'd stay with a stock Z06 clutch. I have 415+ rwhp and 4:10 gears and i just had a Z06 clutch installed and it holds fine for me.....streetwise, as i haven't had a chance to test it at the track yet.

Both would be enough for your current setup and what is planned. The cost of the new Z07 clutch is affordable and I would go that route if mine was being replaced for the extra protection

get the LS7,
Once you start the mods, you'll want more and more. Plan ahead and spend a couple dollars more on the LS7 clutch

Love my LS7! holds the power I have now at the track very well and engagement/pedal effort is identical to my old stock clutch.

Enter Chevrolet/Geo as type then use p/n ls7clutchkit
You also need the C6 clutch slave and you might as well get a new C6 master cylender and pilot bearing

I thought you needed the C5 clutch slave, master and pilot bearing?
Can you confirm which are the correct parts to use for a C5?
Thank you in advance.

I believe that should be C5 clutch slave, master and pilot.
When I did mine I installed the LS7 clutch and flywheel, C5 Z06 slave and C5 pilot bearing. Didn't touch the master.

Well we know it holds 505HP as it's in the new Z06.
I have the LS7 clutch in my car, it feels like stock except there is not shudder on release like the stocker. Pedal feels stock, doesn't stick halfway or to the floor like the stock and LS6 setup.
Don't understand why anyone would even consider the LS6 clutch anymore. What would be the point?

I run mine with about 540 crank 470 RWHP. Works great!
